Top SEO Tactics Will You Focus On In 2013:-

SEO tactics have morphed again over the past year, including the many Google updates we’ve seen.
For nearly any type of business, keeping up with these changes can be a challenge, but if you prioritize the tasks necessary for success in search and social media marketing, the efforts can pay large dividends.
Below are my picks for the top SEO tactics to focus on in the coming year. These tactics can bring you more relevant traffic and conversions for improving your bottom line in 2013.
  • Optimize your pages using SEO best practices
  • Implement social media tactics
  • Build mobile pages and/or mobile apps
  • Build local pages
  • Optimize map listings with local landing page URLs
  • Optimize IYPs & data aggregators for consistent data validation & relevant backlinks
  • Improve SERP visibility with semantic markup

Optimize Pages With SEO Best Practices:-

The best guide to SEO Best Practices is the Google 2012 Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide, which includes the following topics in its Table of Contents.
  • Unique, accurate page titles
  • Description tags
  • Improved site structure
  • Improved URL structure
  • Easy navigation
  • Optimized content
  • Offering quality content and services
  • Writing better anchor text
  • Optimizing images
  • Proper use of heading tags
  • Dealing with crawlers
  • Elective use of robots.txt
  • Using rel=”nofollow” for links
  • SEO for mobile sites
  • Submitting mobile sites to search engines
  • Guiding mobile users accurately
  • Promotions and analysis
  • Promoting your website appropriately
  • Using free webmaster tools
If you take the time to implement these tactics as time allows, you will get gradual improvements in your rankings along with increased conversions.

Implement Social Media Tactics:-

Today’s consumers are increasingly going to social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube for information, influencing their purchasing decisions. They also share their own retail experiences with others on these sites. This results in brand mentions and recommendations from friends and strangers alike.
As a result, consumers have been turning to social media for product research before purchase.
  • 76 percent of consumers recommend companies they trust to a friend or colleague (Edelman Digital)
  • 62 percent of all online shoppers read product-related comments from friends on Facebook, and 75% of these shoppers click through to the retail site.
  • Customers who participate and/or interact with you on YouTube, Twitter or Facebook are 150% more likely to buy merchandise.
With increased social recommendations influencing product search and discovery, it is important that Web merchants take advantage of these touch points, creating opportunities for consumer engagement.
You can encourage your customers to share positive experiences on social media sites, and you also have the opportunity to defend yourself from complaints on these sites. Some brands can benefit by using social media advertising to target their audience and drive new customers to their sites.

Build Mobile Pages And/Or Mobile Apps:-

Optimized mobile pages and mobile apps provide a great user experience for consumers on the go. In fact, shoppers expect to find them when searching on their mobile devices.
Optimize your mobile site and apps with the following features:
  • Location Specific Calls to Action
  • Location Phone Number, Address, Hours
  • Driving Directions
  • Local Store Promotions
  • Local Store Pictures
  • Company YouTube Videos
  • In-Store Offers
  • Social Network Sharing
  • Links to Promotions
  • Click to Call Features

Build Local Pages:-

In addition to the most basic local business information, aggregators wish to acquire as much “enhanced data” or local business details as possible. The more enhanced your local business data is, the more value it has for display to searching consumers.
Enhanced data can include, but is not limited to:
  • Additional business category types
  • Business descriptions
  • Operating hours
  • Web page links
  • Images and logos of the business
  • Images and descriptions of products your business offers

SEO - A Powerful Traffic Source:-

In the ever-changing world of search engine optimization, one goal remains constant: traffic. The higher the site ranks on a search engine results page as seen by a user, the more traffic the site will receive. A site that has been subjected to the standards and strategies of an expert and reputable SEO company is better positioned than its competitors. However, proper white hat SEO strategy implementation does not mean applying a series of quick fixes for higher rankings and more traffic. Reputable search engine optimization means following the search engines guidelines, and never placing a client in harms way.
SEO helps a site with traffic, and thus conversions. The SEO experts here at Bruce Clay, Inc. have a reputation of accomplishment as a top search engine optimization company. We understand why SEO is beneficial to your business, and that without a solid white hat SEO strategy that any great website will fail.

Developing an SEO Strategy:-

A solid and ethical SEO strategy should function as an integral extension to Internet marketing, as it is vital to the success of any organization with an online presence. While it's important to recognize traffic as the primary target, it is equally important to understand why SEO is an objective in the first place. Hence this site offers free tools, training and supplemental services as you choose.
An optimal SEO strategy encapsulates many things. Chief among them is content. Creating authoritative content that includes targeted keywords relevant to user queries is key to organic search. A site that effectively practices the recommendations of reputable SEO professionals will most likely be better than the competition. A site optimized by an SEO expert will typically be rewarded with a higher search engine ranking because that site aims to deliver what the user wants. And search engines reward sites that do so.

Social Media & Internet Marketing

Top 100 U.S. Social Media, Internet Marketing & SEO Blogs – 2012:-

Once again, i am  pleased to present our Top 100 U.S. Social Media, Internet Marketing and SEO blogs. With this year’s list we’ve considered only US-based blogs, which has allowed us to shine a spotlight on some blogs that did not make previous lists. In addition, many industry heavy-weights have moved down, making way for new voices and fresh perspectives. Nearly half of the titles are first-timers.
To compile the list, we chose four Web audience metrics from Compete.com: Average Unique Visitors per Month , Average Page Views per Month per Unique Visitor, Average Time (seconds) per Month per Unique Visitor, and Average Visits per Month per Unique Visitor. Using Cision’s media database, we were able to find over 400 blogs covering social media, online marketing and SEO. From there, we winnowed it down to US-based blogs that primarily focus on these topics. Finally, we ranked the blogs based on the four Compete metrics. Tied scores were broken by UVPM.
As an added bonus (and as part of our on-going campaign to list social profiles for media outlets and contacts in we’ve taken special care to seek out the Twitter Handles, as well as Facebook, Google+.

Discover your International Online Potential

One of the major advantages of having a web-based business presence is the opportunity to reach a global audience, eliminating many of the restrictions and costs that a “physical” international presence might have. Nonetheless, from my day to day experience I’ve found that there is still a lack of vision of opportunity to target international markets.
Ask yourself: when was the last time you checked how many visitors were coming to your site from other countries? Even if you have a small or mid-sized business, do you frequently check what's the percentage of your current conversions coming from other countries and languages than yours?
Besides being an International SEO, I consider myself a cultural broker: I'm a Nicaraguan living in Madrid. I speak English and French in addition to my native language, which is Spanish. I love to travel and I've had the opportunity to do it because of work (and also for pleasure) to places like Argentina, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Turkey, Tunisia, Montenegro, and Russia (on top of other, more common destinations such as the UK, US, France, Italy, Ireland, The Netherlands, Switzerland, etc.). I've had Nicaraguan, Argentinian, Dutch, Spanish, and German bosses in the past, and now I have an American one.
I've also worked in the past as an SEO for:
  • A Dutch owned online marketing agency in Spain with clients from all over Europe
  • A Spanish owned Vertical Web portal targeting eight Latin American and European countries
  • An online marketing provider for Spanish small businesses owned by a French group
  • A Russian company targeting the European market

Basics Of Internet Marketing

Internet marketing, also known as the act of promoting and advertising your business or services online, can help you maximize the overall sales and exposure of your business to other online users. Basic Internet marketing often consists of keyword and search engine optimization (SEO) on your website, sharing your business through means of social media marketing, and more. By following the basic practices of Internet marketing outlined in this article, you can start increasing sales conversion and increase the exposure of your business or website online.

Internet Marketing on your Website:-

1.  Choose a domain name comprised of keywords that are relevant to your company or business. This will allow your website to display near the top of the list of search results when users type those particular keywords into a search engine.
2. Add a blog to your web domain. A blog will allow you to update and add content to your website on a regular basis, which can help improve the overall ranking of your website in search engine results. Write blog posts about content related to your company or business. For example, if you are in the payday loan business, write blog posts and articles related to saving money, or about the benefits of securing payday loans.

3. Use relevant keywords naturally throughout your website. Using relevant keywords and writing unique, interesting content related to your business will help maximize the SEO on your website and bring a higher amount of traffic to the site.
4. Publish a "Contact Us" page on your website. This will allow potential customers to contact you immediately if they have questions about your products or services, which can also impact sales. Provide your phone number, email address, physical business address, and any other applicable contact information on the "Contact Us" page.
5. Use analytic and tracking tools to measure your website metrics. Tools such as Google Analytics and Bing Webmaster can provide you with insight about important metrics; including the names of web pages or blog posts that pull in large amounts of traffic, and the amount of time users spend on your website. Use the data you gather from analytic and tracking tools to increase your web traffic. For example, if you run a construction business, and notice that a blog post you wrote about bathroom repair receives more visits than any other page, publish more content related to bathroom repair.
6. Allow users to subscribe to newsletters and blog posts on your website. This will help keep repeat-customers and other interested users informed and updated on your business. This will also help you generate a list of email addresses that belong to your subscribers.

Use the Internet to Market your Business:-

1. Promote your business using social media websites. Establishing a presence on social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, or Digg, can get your company or business noticed by millions of other users. Create a profile for your business on as many social networking platforms as possible, then post frequent updates about your business in regards to events, sales, new products, special promotions, and more

2. Publish videos about your business on video-hosting websites. This will expose your business to Internet users who enjoy watching and sharing videos related to your business. Examples of video-hosting websites are YouTube and Metacafe. Record videos that cover interesting topics related to your business, or record helpful informational and how-to videos. For example, if you run a hair salon business, record video demonstrations of how to braid or style hair to help generate an interest in your services.
3.Post your company profile on a variety of online business directories. This practice can be especially helpful if you have a business that serves your local area. Examples of online business directories are Google Places, Yahoo Local, Yelp, Yellow Pages, and more.
4. Send email blasts to your website subscribers. This form of Internet marketing is known as email marketing, and can keep your customers updated on new products, discounts, sales, and other news related to your company.

 Three Skills for SEO Success:-

Every job and every niche  has its own particular set of skills that are necessary for success. An aptitude for or natural ability in one or more is certainly a plus in your favor, but that leaves the rest to be learnt.  Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is no different. There are some things you just have you likely are intrinsically good at, but like everything else in life, if you really want to be an good at something, it takes continued practice. Even if stardom isn’t one of your goals, if you’re going to be engaged in using SEO, you’re going to have to at least have some knowledge of what it takes to be a winner. There are many, many skills, but three will determine whether you rise or set in the SEO galaxy.
  • Writing skills – Let’s face it, if you can’t write clear, compelling, concise, communicative, quality content, no amount of SEO or even traffic for that matter is going to achieve your business objectives. Content is king, as they say, and if you can’t put enough decent sentences together to create content readers will read, you probably should look elsewhere for a job, or hire someone to do the writing for you.   Harsh, perhaps? But, true, nonetheless. Good SEO professionals know that it’s the content that makes or breaks the campaign. Everything that is the world of SEO revolves around words that engage your target audience.  And it’s not just keywords, anymore, but the whole package deal. Use those words well, and you’ll shine like the sun and an audience will flock around you like the Dipper around the North Star.
  • Social Media Savvy – Something else we need to face is that social media is here, and it’s not going away any time soon. All that writing you’re doing has to find its intended audience.  Most of those audiences are *gasp* humans on social media sites.   Blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest and StumbleUpon are essential platforms you need to at least have a working knowledge of and some hands-on experience with. Otherwise, all your hard work creating SEO content is going to just sit there, hoping a reader comes along, just so much cyberspace junk.
  • Analytical Abilities – What good is it is you have a huge audience reading all your killer King content that you are unsure your audience even likes? One of the quieter, invisible, behind-the-scenes aspects  of  SEO is knowing just how well you’re doing with it. Is your blog flagging on Fridays? How about Facebook? Kicking it at the beginning of the month, but stagnant since then? You need to  have some idea of how each platform is performing, which articles are getting the most attention, which videos are just wasted time. Your website’s pages can tell you a lot about your visitors and their actions, too, but you’ve got to know where to go to get the information from them. Learn the analytical tools offered by each of the platforms and websites you are involved with. Then, learn how to make changes that may improve your performance. Replace that dead weight video. Perk up that blog with a new theme or template to improve readability. And for Heaven’s sake, fix that Facebook problem before it freezes like that.
An ancient Chinese proverb says that the first question is the beginning of all knowledge. the first thing you need to know is what you need to know. After all, SEO stardom isn’t as difficult to obtain as it might seem. You can learn everything you need from the comfort of your own keyboard and then you can shine like the SEO star you were meant to be.

How to Integrate Blogging With Content Marketing that Inspires Action:-

Companies all over the social web are confronted with the need for  ROI in corporate blogging.

Despite blogs being named as more influential than social networks in shaping consumers’ opinions and purchase decisions, many marketers and communicators  are falling short.
Why? A focus on self-promotion has many brands running out of content  ideas and time to show a return on their blog content investment. Tolerance for quantity of content and superficial social engagement metrics as a basis for results is diminishing.
Despite these challenges, blogs provide an incredible content marketing platform for connecting directly with prospects, the media, customers, new employees, investors and the industry at large.
To offer companies a roadmap to realizing these business blogging and content marketing benefits, I will be giving a presentation at the inaugural Social Media Marketing

                                         blogging inspires action

Conversion Rate Optimization:-

Conversion rate optimization (CRO) should be a priority for any webmaster working today, whether you’ve set up a website to sell products or to simply disseminate a message. If it’s true that “what gets measured, gets managed,” it’s easy to see why failing to implement a proper CRO plan on your website (according to the recommendations found in the following articles) limits your site’s overall effectiveness.

Mobile Marketing:-

Smartphone penetration and usage have never been higher, and there’s no sign these trends will slow down or reverse any time in the near future. Smart companies are investing in marketing strategies that allow them to capture these mobile users, so you’ll want to take a look at the guidelines found in the following great blog posts.

Branding and Marketing:-

Google hasn’t shied away from sharing its love of big brands. From the search giant’s standpoint, this makes sense, as customers are often more likely to report positive user experiences on branded sites than on their “no name” competitors.Unfortunately, this isn’t always good news for smaller websites, who may have lacked the budget, resources, or wherewithal to develop their brands in the past. If you find yourself in this tenuous position, the following posts will provide the guidance needed to help you develop and launch a new branding campaign.

                                                        Branding and Marketing

Pay-Per-Click Advertising:-

Pay-per-click (PPC) (also called cost per click) is an internet advertising model used to direct traffic to websites, in which advertisers pay the publisher.

                                                                      ppc

If you’re in the market for fast traffic, you simply can’t beat pay-per-click (PPC) advertising. However, given the steep learning curve that’s sometimes associated with this marketing method, you’d be wise to take heed of the following advice on how to manage these campaigns effectively.

                                                                  pay per click

Link Building:-

Link building remains important, but given the focus of the Penguin update on unnatural link building techniques, it’s safe to say that this aspect of SEO has changed more than any other in 2012. If you’re concerned that your link building techniques may be out-of-date according to new SEO best practices, read on for updated guidelines:

Blogging and Content Marketing:-

Content marketing is poised to make one of the biggest jumps in importance ever, given the potential for natural link creation this tactic provides. If you don’t yet have a company blog or a content marketing strategy in place, you simply must give the following articles a read

internet marketing

Internet marketing, or online marketing, refers to advertising and marketing efforts that use the Web and e-mail to drive direct sales via e-commerce as well as sales leads from Web sites or emails. Internet marketing and online advertising efforts are typically used in conjunction with traditional types of advertising like radio, television, newspapers and magazines.

So far in 2012, Google’s Penguin update launch has been far and away the biggest story in SEO.  However, don’t let the dominance of Penguin-related coverage fool you. There have been plenty of other important tweaks as well.
For example, although it seems like ages ago, Google’s “Search, plus Your World” feature was only launched in January of this year. In addition, we’ve also seen changes made to sites that feature copyrighted content, to the way keyword data is displayed within Google’s SEO tools and to the impact negative SEO can have on a site’s search rankings

As we approach the Labor Day holiday, it’s a good time to look back and review all of the great content that’s been published so far this year. It’s been a busy time in the world of digital marketing, considering everything from the highly influential launch of the Penguin algorithm update to shifts in the way consumers engage with social networks and mobile devices.

Social Media

Beyond changes made to the search engine algorithms, the role and impact of social media have been changing as well. As consumers begin to rely on these popular websites more and more—and as the search engines give an increasingly large priority to certain signals found on these networks—2012 can be described as the year in which social media became a “must have” for organizations, rather than just an added perk.
